Social Networking Assistant
Some people do not have time to go about the daily grind of adding users to all their social networking sites. As these sites do not like their members to use software to gather names then you’re going to be at risk if you using a script or tool to add friends.
Places like MySpace and Twitter are very critical of those who add more than a certain amount per day and have actually canceled accounts when people go overboard adding friends. This is where the social networking assistant comes in. While this job is sometimes rolled in with a virtual assistant, many companies would like to have the jobs separate, especially if the company has several social networking sites.
The social networking assistant is given access to the accounts and then spends hours per day just befriending people and making comments on their pages or blogs. The social networking assistant knows what key phrases work best in posts and knows how to write content that will complement the actual post instead of silly phrases like “I like this!” The social networker also knows the limits on how many people can be added to each service without penalty and knows how to easily navigate the systems so the account does not get banned yet the job is still worth doing.
In the past people have paid social networkers very little because people from other countries were willing to accept a low payment. Things have changed now that business owners are tired of looking like they’ve been spammed with comments that had little to do with the content or looked like a drive-by paid post. If you’re planning on posting “nice site!” or “I agree with you.” then you’re not going to be a very good social networking assistant as blog owners have realized and are now paying real money to get the goods.
You’re going to need to work quickly in befriending people and adding comments in order to make it worth your time. Even though we’ve gone beyond that $2.00 per hour rate, most business owners who are going to pay you to make blog comments or add friends do not have the kind of budget needed to make a web product that has attracted millions of people already. If they did then they wouldn’t need someone to help them.
The Social Networking Butterfly is one place that hires people to do work through customers of their own. There are also many other places where you can find social networking jobs yet they can be difficult to find because of their nature. People don’t want you to know that they’re paying people to comment and make friends so they do not readily advertise their needs. It seem to be one of those ‘fall into your lap’ jobs.
